The city of Grevenbroich is entering the future of urban development with a pioneering project.
The heart of “CityFlächen” lies in the marketing of locations on the GFWS website. Industrial Area Elsbachtal

Together with the towns of Grevenbroich and Jüchen, RWE Power AG is developing the “Elsbachtal Industrial Park” inter-municipal industrial area. The area has a total surface area of approx. 43 ha and is located directly on the B59n (formerly the BAB 540)
Over the past two years, many discussions have been held with interested companies. Criteria such as the number and quality of jobs, sustainability aspects and the forecast trade tax revenue were discussed and scored.
Power plant Frimmersdorf
Under the motto "Past meets future", the former Frimmersdorf coal-fired power plant is to be developed into a digital and innovation location in the Rhenish mining area. Key components of the power plant will be placed under a preservation order for this purpose. Funding of up to 65 million euros is to be applied for from the federal government's structural aid program for the project.
The Frimmersdorf power plant site covers a total of around 70 hectares of gross building land.
